Over the past three years, Wendy’s Franchisee Owners throughout the region have partnered with YMCA's and competitive Swim Clubs to provide an unparalleled water safety program directed at providing swim lessons and water safety instruction to children at risk of drowning. To date, more than 35,000 free or discounted water safety and swim lessons have been provided through Wendy's Learn to Swim program in collaboration with partners in the metropolitan Charlotte area and in other cities covering the Carolinas. This year's water safety and learn to swim efforts will once again include the support of NewsChannel 36 - encouraging everyone at every age, adults and children, to learn how to swim in the Charlotte television viewing area. With nine (9) drowning deaths daily in this country, NewsChannel 36 is using their voice and talents to help promote the importance of water safety. Swimming Changes Lives......and it Can Save Yours!
